Our Policy
At Wasteland Rattery, we prioritize the well-being of our rats, which is why we only rehome them in pairs or groups of three or more.
Rats are highly social animals that thrive in groups, and through our experience, we’ve found that trios often provide the most harmonious dynamics for fancy rats. For this reason, we exclusively place same-sex pairs or trios in new homes.
While breeding may seem exciting, it’s important to consider the challenges involved, including caring for over 20 baby rats and managing the demands of responsible breeding.
Our mission is to raise happy, healthy pets. To achieve this, we have established guidelines to ensure our babies are placed in the best possible homes.
We strongly encourage all prospective adopters to have their arrangements finalized before placing a deposit to ensure a smooth and successful adoption process.

First-Come, First-Served: Deposits are handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Age Requirement: You must be 18 or older to adopt. If you’re under 18, we require a parent or guardian to contact us on your behalf.

Payment: Full payment is required before taking your new rats home.

Adoption Policies:

If we must cancel your reservation, your deposit will be refunded after the pups have been rehomed.

If you choose to cancel your reservation, the deposit will be forfeited. This includes, but is not limited to, the following reasons:

Finding rats closer to your location.

Changing your mind or finding a less expensive rattery.

Deciding not to wait for pickup updates.

Preferring a different sex (we can transfer your reservation, if available).

Opting out of transportation services.
